Looks like the red wave of obesity is traveling northeast from Texas. Pennsylvania looks like it might be the next state in line (along with Indiana, Ohio, and Maryland) to reach an obesity rate of over 25 percent. Maybe if Pennsylvania starts investing more money in street infrastructure that promotes activity rather than discourages it we could start addressing this deadly problem. And this isn’t just an adult problem. More children than ever before are considered obese! Creating a bicycle and pedestrian friendly infrastructure is one way to nip this problem in the bud.
