Four pedestrians hurt in East Liberty accident

The City should make it a priority to eliminate all car/pedestrian crashes. This can be done with better crosswalks, pedestrian signalling, traffic calming measures, and better sight lines for cars to name just a handful.

A truck coming out of Home Depot parking lot struck a woman and three children walking across Highland Avenue in East Liberty this morning.
The woman and two girls were listed in stable condition, and one boy was in critical condition.

The accident occurred at 10:25, when the truck leaving the parking lot turned south along North Highland Avenue and struck the group. The driver remained on the scene and was interviewed by police and released. Police did not identify him.
