Transportation for America launched a new website today, to coincide with National Bike to Work Day that allows you to vent your frustrations about your commute and turn that rage into action. At MyCommuteSucks.org you can vent, upload videos, and discuss how bad your commute can be. Afterward, you are encouraged to do something about it, and tell Congress to act now to create a sane and sustainable transportation system.
T4America is an organization on the front lines of a battle to lobby Congress to create a more balanced national transportation system as they work to allocate hundreds of billions of dollars in the upcoming re-write of the Transportation Bill.
According to the website, “sitting in a metal box on a sea of asphalt surrounded by the toxic gases that are cooking our planet sounds like a lousy way to start and end your day. It’s time to stop silently seething and muttering curses under your breath—we’re inviting you to let it all out!”
“Our congested roads have lanes added to them – yet promptly fill up again. More and more people are riding the train and bus, yet service is being cut. Biking has never been more popular, but it seems our streets have never been more difficult or dangerous to use.”
The site is peppered with resources on contacting Congress and taking action in your own community. And what if your commute doesn’t suck? Well, you can leave a comment in the “My Commute Rocks” section.
Rage against your ride, then help turn the tide!
