Take advantage of the great weather and learn about Pittsburgh’s Urban Farms!
As part of Buy Fresh Buy Local’s Local Food Month, the Pennsylvania Association for Sustainable Agriculture is putting together an Urban Farm Bike Tour! on Friday, September 18, 2009 from 12-7 pm. It is a self guided tour through the city showcasing lovely community gardens and farms, including many from Grow Pittsburgh.
Show support and bring awareness to fresh food sources and biking in PGH. Donations from the event will go to help the Cliff st Block Club in the Hill District start their community garden and other Urban farming/gardening projects.
Go at your own pace between 12-7, start and stop at any location through the tour. The gates will be open!

Join the Guided Group Ride that starts at 2pm at Braddock Farms 1000 Braddock Ave, Braddock PA goes through all the farm stops and will be ending before 5pm in pgh.
There will be raffles, seed bomb making, literature and yummy treats at each stop.
Farms and Gardens on the Tour are as follows:
- Braddock Farms: corner of Braddock Avenue and 10th Street.
- Shiloh Peace Garden: corner of Thomas Boulevard and Homewood Avenue
- Frick Greenhouse: 7227 Reynolds St. inside the Frick Art and Historical Center
- Larimer Community Garden: Corner of Larimer Avenue and Mayflower Street
- Whole Food’s Enright : End of South.St. Claire Street in East Liberty..
- Cliff Street Block Club: Proposed garden spot: corner or Manilla and Cliff Street
