And thus begins the 4th year of a Pittsburgh effort to reduce the number of single occupant car trips
In the coming weeks the details of this year’s Car Free Fridays will be announced. In the mean time here’s a teaser. The new logo was created by Bearded in East Liberty. The Beardeds do fine work indeed. We hope you like it as much as we do! Think of this as our team logo because everyone can be a player on the Car Free Fridays’ team.
Bring in the Welcome Wagon
Bike Pittsburgh also welcomes Dan Yablonsky, an SCA Green Cities Fellow, who will be working with us out quite a bit this year, especially on initiatives like Car Free Fridays. We’re excited to have Dan aboard. His enthusiasm for bike commuting is obvious the moment you meet him. Dan loves all types of riding. One of the first questions he asked when he accepted the position at Bike Pittsburgh was how many bikes should he bring with him to Pittsburgh. He settled on three, which doesn’t include his tandem. Dan’s sense of adventure doesn’t stop there he’s an avid skier and rock climber too. In town only two weeks Dan says he loves the city already. When asked why, Dan reports, “it’s such a mess and so beautiful all at the same time.” Does that sound familiar to anyone? This guy fits right in!
