We need your help!
We are working with the Southwest Pennsylvania Commission (SPC) to count bikes at various intersections throughout the city, and need some dependable folks to help out.
We’re looking to get some numbers in Oakland, Squirrel Hill, Northside, Downtown/Strip, Lawrenceville, Bloomfield/Shadyside.
Bike Counts are very important so that we can assess where people are currently riding so that we can better advocate for infrastructure.
The days that we’re looking to conduct the bike counts are
- Tuesday: May 15, May 22, May 29
- Wednesday: May 16, May 23, May 30
- Thursday: May 17, May 24, May 31
Each day has 2 shifts: 7am-9am and 4pm-6pm
You can sign up for one or more of any of the shifts.
Here’s how it works.
You fill out the following web form with your availability and neighborhood preference. We’ll get back to you with your street assignment, directions, and relevant materials. You will be expected to print out the materials, show up to your location, follow the simple instructions, and report back the findings.
Also, you will not be expected to sit out in the case of rain.

If we don’t count bikes, then bikes don’t count!
