Comment on regional projects that will affect you

The 30-Day Public Comment period for review of the Draft 2015-2018 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP) is happening.

This comment period will remain open until Friday, July 18th at 4pm.

The TIP is an important piece of how capital transportation projects get funded in our region. Please take a few moments to review the document and provide comments on projects in your area.

Basically, you can see the upcoming projects in the region for the next few years. You can search the document for areas or projects that you are familiar with or that will affect you. For instance, if there a a road being redesigned, you can submit a comment that you’d like to see bike lanes or sidewalks in the redesign. Likewise, if there’s a project that you like, you can also let them know.

Unfortunately, the descriptions of the projects are really vague and don’t have any detail, so it’s difficult to know exactly what to comment on. However, it is useful to simply say that you use the area of a project, how you use it, and what you’d like to see.

The TIP and its associated documents can be found here.
