Mayor Bill Peduto pledged during a Schenley Park cycling event Thursday to complete the city’s first three protected bike lanes in Schenley Park, Greenfield and Downtown by Labor Day.

The first, two-lane segments will account for one-and-a-half of five miles partially underwritten through $250,000 from the Green Lane Project, a national urban consortium of cities working to improve bicycle infrastructure.
