We can all get along
In a thoughtful piece, Brian O’Neill from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette lays out a few tips to ease the tensions between people on bikes and people in cars.

It’s getting a bit like an old Western in Pittsburgh, only instead of the farmers against the cattle ranchers, it’s the cyclists against the motorists.
So far there’s been little violence, though what there has been, both willful and accidental, has gone decidedly against the two-wheelers. In any collision, it’s never going to be an even contest.
Mostly people are figuring out how to get along. Angry words, looks or extended middle fingers are about as far as things generally get, and even those incidents are scattered. But now that there’s a two-way bike lane on Penn Avenue from Sixth to 16th Street, protected lanes in Oakland and Greenfield, and plans for bikes lanes on bridges over the Allegheny and Mon, cycling is not-so-suddenly more prominent.
