Bike and pedestrian traffic may proceed with caution on sidewalk
The City of Pittsburgh Department of Public Works advises that McArdle Roadway – from Grandview Avenue to the Liberty Bridge – will be closed to car traffic, weather permitting, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Monday, December 8 and Tuesday, December 9, 2014.
Pedestrians and people on bikes will be allowed to access the sidewalk during those times, but are advised to proceed with caution. And don’t forget: bicyclists sharing this sidewalk (and any other path) with pedestrians should audibly signal with their voices (“On your left!”) or with a bike bell to alert peds before passing.
Crews will be removing jersey barriers and working in wooded areas. If all goes as planned, the road will be reopened to car traffic on Wednesday.
