The Greenfield Bridge is coming down. Find out what it means for biking and walking during construction as well as on the new bridge.

The Greenfield Bridge is an important connector between the Greenfield neighborhood and Schenley Park, connecting directly to the recent Pocusset St “road shift.”

In addition to managing the full project, the City’s Department of Public works has been putting together some bicycle accommodations both during construction, and across the new bridge.

According to Patrick Hassett, Assistant Director of the Bureau of Engineering,”the new bridge combines a graceful design with improved accommodations for pedestrians and bicyclists.” And a press release from the Mayor’s office today states that “a 10-foot pedestrian sidewalk and dedicated bike lane will make the bridge safer for drivers, walkers and bicyclists while expanding the City’s efforts to make Pittsburgh more walkable and bike-friendly.”

Find out what’s in store for the bridge’s design including detours, construction plans and roadway plans for drivers and bicyclists at the upcoming public meeting.
