Find out what’s in store for one of Pittsburgh’s largest developments
A new development is in the making in Hazelwood along the Monongahela River, one of the largest development sites in the City of Pittsburgh. The 178 acre former LTV Steel site, the ALMONO development will surely transform the riverfront and this part of town.
The Almono Partners envision a master-planned development, where “environmental sustainability, including alternate sources of energy, storm and waste water management and transportation innovation are key components of the plan.” Since they’re dealing with essentially a blank slate, a huge part of this is making sure the site is accommodating to biking and walking and seamlessly connects to the neighborhood and trail amenities nearby.
