Thank a Transit Driver on Wednesday!
Public transportation is a key element of urban life and has a huge role in Pittsburgh’s past, present, and future. The bike racks installed on every Port Authority bus improve the flexibility of biking for many people who travel on two wheels — and the service wouldn’t be possible without our transit operators. This week you have an opportunity to give back to the people who keep our city moving by Celebrate Transit Worker Appreciation Day on Wednesday, March 18th. All you need to do is take a moment to say thanks to the folks who drive the busses and/or operate the light rail cars that circulate throughout our county.
Bike Pittsburgh is glad to participate in the local effort, headed up by Pittsburghers for Public Transit, by encouraging everyone to thank transit workers on Wednesday.
Check out the local Facebook event today and share it with you friends. And if you want to go a step further print out a card for your favorite bus driver. We can’t wait to see the creative expressions of appreciation that you come up with.
