Biking to the Buccos

Save yourself the hassle of finding parking and pedal down to a game instead

Biking down to Pirates games is one of summer’s greatest pleasures. Pittsburgh’s world-class baseball stadium, PNC Park, is conveniently located right along the Three Rivers Heritage Trail.

If you live near or along the trail in the Southside, Northside, Downtown, parts of the Strip District or Millvale you should really give it a try — your trip can be completely or nearly car-free.

If you live elsewhere and want a car-free bike ride to the game, try driving to one of free parking lots along the trail, parking and then biking the trail to a game. You can plan your route with our handy Pittsburgh Bike Map ( view WEST, view EAST). The parking symbols (“P” with a circle around it) indicate free trailhead parking.

Once you get to the stadium, bike racks can be found on all sides of the of the building, near each entrance of the park — not just along Federal Street.

    Hi there!

Does anyone have a suggestion as to how to deal with the fact you can’t bring bags into the games? I usually ride with one so I can carry my lock at least. Same problem for Riverhounds and Steelers. The smallest bag that will fit my lock isn’t allowed and I don’t own any clear bags to ride with.

    Thanks
