Support Youth Cycling in Pittsburgh

Our friends at Pittsburgh Major Taylor Cycling Club (PMTCC) are starting a new youth cycling team called Major Force. Major Force is a program for teenaged youth to learn how to bike for transportation and for exercise. Participants will ride with members of PMTCC twice a week as a means of training for a long ride during the summer. At the end of the program the teen will get to keep their bikes.

Can you make a donation to help cover the costs of bringing the new, donated bikes to Pittsburgh? We are so proud to be working with PMTCC to make Major Force a reality.

BUT in order for this program to get off to a good start, we need your help! Major Force has secured a donation of 83 bikes from Raleigh Bicycles, and it will cost about $2,000 to bring the bikes to Pittsburgh and the program’s grant money cannot be used for the transportation of bikes.

By donating just $5, $10, or $20 you can be a part of bringing all of the benefits of bike riding — independence, confidence, transportation — to a deserving group of local teenagers.

Pittsburgh Major Taylor Bicycling Club’s mission is to introduce cycling, develop skills, provide instruction, and to promote overall health benefits to the Pittsburgh community, particularly targeting those communities disproportionately affected by health issues. We are a non-profit organization dedicated to bicycling. The Club’s focus is to provide the novice, intermediate, and advanced cyclist the opportunity to ride, train, and socialize with other cycling enthusiasts.
