May 31st is ~*New Bike Day*~…CITYWIDE
To be clear, Healthy Ride’s imminent launch has us like this:
Tomorrow, May 31st, marks the soft launch of the system when at least 8 stations will have bikes available for rental. Throughout the month of June the rest of the stations (there will be 50 in total) will open across Pittsburgh. Soon, tens of thousands of people across Pittsburgh will have easy access to a new transportation option.
Here are three things that you can do to prepare.
- Get the Nextbike app. It’s available on Android and Apple iOs. With the app you’ll be able to see where Healthy Ride bikes are available and rent a bike. No smartphone? Sign up on the Healthy Ride website.
- Get a helmet. Healthy Ride is BYOH (bring your own helmet) so grab one at a local bike shop. Bike Pittsburgh members get a discount at local bike shops, so bring your membership card.
- Read up on the rules of the road. Our concise, comic book-style Urban Biking Companion has all of the information you need to prepare for hitting the city streets on a bike.
Share your Healthy Ride experience with us using #myhealthyride on social media.
