New Bike Lanes Installed Yesterday on Bayard

Thanks to the efforts of Mayor Peduto, City Planning, and DPW there is yet another great bike lane available in one of the of the areas of the city that need it most: Oakland.

Home to universities, hospitals, the School for the Blind, senior housing and many businesses; Oakland is the 3rd largest economic and social center in Pennsylvania after only Center City Philadelphia and Downtown Pittsburgh.

This bustling neighborhood has been in desperate need of safe bike infrastructure to ensure that bicyclists have safe places to ride.

The lanes are not yet complete. There are still some parked cars in the new lane along Bayard, some lines have yet to be painted, and some crosswalks are being removed and repainted; so be sure to use caution as you ride.
