Elevating the voices of businesses calling for better biking and walking
When you’re working with a network of 75 paid Business Members you know you’re movement is gaining momentum.
Last night, BikePGH held our first Business Members Appreciation event to say thank you to the 75 businesses that financially contribute to our mission. This network contributed over $250,000 in cash and in-kind support to BikePGH and we could not have done it without them. This support allowed us to celebrated some big wins for livable streets in 2015 – Open Streets, new Oakland/Downtown bike lanes, launch of our new Positive Spin youth empowerment program, and much much more.
Most importantly we came together to recognize that 75 Business Members and $250k in support is just the beginning. The future will hold so much more as our city grows and our priorities shift towards people-focused transportation. Fortunately we get to carry this message with a strong business community that will invest in the fact that better biking and walking is good for business.
Each one of our Business Members’ support was crucial, but in 2015 there have been a few businesses that have gone above and beyond. Last night we took a moment to recognize those businesses. Their outstanding effort should not go unnoticed. We need to ensure that the leadership of these businesses emerges as the epitome of how a business should invest in our city, of how a business can create a truly livable place for all Pittsburghers.
Below are the awards that were given to BikePGH’s 2015 Business Supporters of the Year:
Highmark – Business Member of the Year
Red House Communications – Small Business Champion
Lawrenceville Corporation – Organization of the Year
Dero – Industry Member of the Year
