I drive a school bus, but my other ride is a bike share bike.
In my free time whenever I’m not producing music, I find myself going for a ride. And I don’t even own a bicycle.
Growing up on the Northside, I always had a bike. Biking is how I would explore my neighborhood, see my friends, and pass time.
As I got older biking was no longer a part of my life. I started relying on public transportation and my temperamental car to get to work – this proved to be unreliable at times, so unreliable that I even lost jobs being late for shifts.
When the bike share stations appeared, my wife and I decided to give the bikes a try. I was wobbly to say the least, but as it turns out I remembered how to ride. Soon after, I found myself deciding to go for another ride, and then another, and another.
Healthy Ride has given me the opportunity to exercise, to relax and take my mind off of my work, and it even inspires my creativity.
As I pedal, playing in my head is a soundtrack to my life in that moment.
My three words to describe biking: convenient, cost-efficient, and healthy. Healthy Ride brought these things to my life and I didn’t even have to ask for it.
Sincerely,
