PricewaterhouseCoopers employees outfit our Positive Spin kids with a new fleet of bicycles
Last month a group of 150 new hires at PricewaterhouseCoopers attended an employee orientation event in Atlanta, GA. Instead of clicking through endless powerpoint slides and memorizing company policy, the new employees spent two days learning about the work BikePGH is doing with our Positive Spin youth empowerment program and building our kids a brand new fleet of bicycles!
In addition to 60 brand new Raleigh bikes, PwC also donated 60 helmets and 60 sets of front/rear lights to keep all our kids safe while riding. This amazing gift is worth over $22,000!!!
With over 200,000 employees worldwide, PwC is running this orientation every 2 weeks with new charity partners. Thats a lot of employees building a lot of bikes for a lot of people. In fact, in the 10 years they’ve been running the program, the company has built and donated nearly 16,000 bikes! These bikes have made an incredible impact in communities across the country, and they’re going to make a huge difference in the lives of the youth involved with BikePGH’s Positive Spin program.
In 2016, our Positive Spin program will run as an after-school program at Arsenal School in Lawrenceville and Schiller Classical Academy in East Allegheny. During the summer, we’ll be carrying out Positive Spin as a summer-camp program at King Elementary in Allegheny Center. Learn more about Positive Spin here!
