Taking Strides, Connecting Communities

Your support is transforming Pittsburgh!

This year over 1,200 people signed our petition to PennDOT demanding a safer West Carson Street. A staggering 55,000 people participated in our three-part OpenStreetsPGH series. And we taught nearly 1,500 youth and adults safe riding skills through our education programs. Additionally, biking, walking, and transit infrastructure have been enshrined into law with a Complete Streets Ordinance.

Here’s what you can look forward to in 2017:

A landmark year for bike infrastructure. We played a critical role in the creation of The City of Pittsburgh’s Bike Plan. Soon we will see the plan begin to roll out, featuring the extension of Penn Avenue protected bike lanes to the Point, as well as connecting the Downtown network to the Eliza Furnace Trail.

Connecting neighborhoods with the magic of OpenStreetsPGH. Expect another unique route to be unveiled this spring. Discover new neighborhoods with this community-building, family-friendly, city-transforming series of events.

Expansion of our women’s bike education series. BikePGH will present four workshops for women focusing on confident city cycling, bicycle maintenance, and repair. We aim to empower women through hands-on bicycle education.

Your investment in BikePGH makes a positive impact on the safety of our streets and the livability of our neighborhoods. Let’s put people first and continue to take strides to connect our communities. Please consider making a contribution today.
