Spinnsters: August bike rides and meetups for women

A community is growing around women & biking

On Tuesday, August 15th, BikePGH’s Spinnsters will gather for our 5th women-only bike ride. Attendance has been increasing since its launch and a community of women is growing around our shared joy of biking. For years, BikePGH’s Women & Biking programs have aimed to create spaces for women to learn about bikes and biking through educational opportunities and events, and it’s exciting to now have regular bike rides to enjoy.

Share these rides with your friends and family to let them know that they can join in. The rides are free and welcoming to a range of riding levels. Group rides are a great opportunity to become familiar with riding on the city’s streets, and a good opportunity to connect with other women.

Spinnsters Bike RIde: BikeFest Edition

Tuesday, August 15th
6:00pm meet, 6:15pm ride
Schenley Plaza outside of The Porch

Join us for a casual no-drop all levels welcoming ride followed by a fun and optional happy hour.

If you’ve been waiting for the chance to get active on two wheels with a group of welcoming friendly and fun wymn bikers and have a great time while doing it, these monthly rides are the ticket for you. Mark your calendars–we can’t wait to see you there!

This ride will start and end at the same location. The route will be approximately 10 miles. There will be some hills (this is PGH after all) but everyone should and can ride at their own pace. This is a NO-DROP ride meaning you will never be left behind.

**You must have front and rear bike lights and a helmet to attend this ride. Be sure to do a safety check of your bike before heading out!**

Spinnsters Happy Hour

Wednesday, August 23rd
5:00pm – 7:00pm
Grist House, 10 Sherman St, Pittsburgh, PA 15209 (Millvale)

In lieu of coffee this month, I thought we could get together to enjoy BikePGH’s Outspoken Ale at Grist House Craft Brewery…and Driftwood Oven will be there making delicious pizzas. This happy hour is an opportunity to meet other women to ride with, get advice about biking in Pittsburgh, or see your Spinnsters friends.

See you there!

We’re looking forward to getting to know you.
