#LunchLoop Riverlife and the 412 Youth Zone
By now, the #LunchLoop is well-known for being quick, easy, no-sweat, no-stress lunchtime bike ride. Its a great excuse to get out of the office and grab a breath of fresh air during your lunch hour. However, the #LunchLoop we did last week with Riverlife and the 412 Youth Zone was extra special! We had OVER 50 RIDERS, and we road a new route. Lots of fun. We hope you’ll join us for our next #LunchLoop on August 10th.
Bummed you missed out on this exciting day? Not to worry! BikePGH will still be hosting two more #LunchLoops this summer on August 10th and September 7th. Follow these links to reserve your spot:
And a huge thanks to Riverlife and Healthy Ride for your partnership to make all of these #LunchLoop rides possible.
About Riverlife
Riverlife has a vested interest in active lifestyles and outdoor activities along our city’s beautiful riverfronts. The organization is one our main partners to make the #LunchLoop possible. During the ride we heard exclusive updates from Vivien Li, CEO of Riverlife, on the organization’s recent work. Vivien shared exciting information about Pittsburgh’s wind-powered bridge lighting for the 9th street bridge, the “Take A Seat” installation under the Fort Pitt Bridge into Point State Park, and the Mon Wharf Switchback Ramp which will safely connect trail users from the Smithfield Bridge down to the Mon Wharf Landing. About 412 Youth Zone
The 412 Youth Zone is a central hub filled with activities and hang out spots for young adults who have recently exited the Foster Care System or are experiencing homelessness. BikePGH’s Education Program works closely with The 412 Youth Zone to share the joy of riding bikes for convenient transportation and healthy recreation. The partnership between our organizations brings on-the-bike safety training to the young folks who participate, and provides a free high-quality bike and commuter accessories to those who successfully complete the program. Because of our partnership and its location near Market Square, it only made sense for the 412 Youth Zone to join in on the #LunchLoop to join us in the fun.
