How do you want the City to invest their money?
Every year, The Mayor’s Office of Community Affairs sets up Deliberative Forums to help get resident’s feedback on what they would like the City to prioritize for next year’s capital improvements. From bike lanes and cross walks to parks and green spaces, the City needs to allocate its “capital” for City Council approval in order to be placed on the City’s Capital Budget.
Add your voice to the budgeting process
The City of Pittsburgh is hosting two Deliberative Forums to discuss the 2019 Capital Budget and to provide an interactive way for residents to share ideas on 2019 budget priorities. At these forums, neighbors will have a chance to learn about the budget, engage with neighbors and city officials, and add their voice to the budgeting process. The Forums are open to all residents of Pittsburgh. This year’s theme is Potholes and Pierogies.
Be sure to put the following on your calendars and forward out to your friends and social networks. Having a robust turnout of bike/ped support at these forums has directly resulted in an increase of money being allocated every year for bike/ped projects, getting the Negley Ave. bike lanes put in, and other bike projects around the city.
