BikePGH is looking for enthusiastic and energetic people to join our Part-time Events Team for summer 2020 to assist in the execution of our OpenStreetsPGH event series.
What is OpenStreetsPGH? OpenStreetsPGH is a free community event organized by BikePGH that temporarily opens miles of city streets for neighbors to walk, run, bike, and explore spaces that would otherwise be used by motor vehicles.
Roles include:
- Production Team: Responsibilities include packing event supplies, setting up and tearing down the day of the event, driving a large cargo van of event supplies when needed. Up to 25 hours per event week during the last week of May, June, July, and August.
- Bike Safety Team: Responsibilities include supporting event set-up following safety guidelines to ensure the safety of attendees, assisting the general public as needed and helping set up safety-related signage. Up to 8 hours on the day of each event.
- Data Collection Team: Responsibilities include engaging with attendees of OpenStreetsPGH to collect surveys and counts of OpenStreetPGH participants. Up to 6 hours on the day of each event.
Please note that most shifts will be either outdoors or in a non-climate controlled environment during the summer months.

- June 25th & 26th
- July 23rd & 24th
- OpenStreetsPGH event dates:
- May 31st, June 27th & July 26th
- Post-event dates:
- June 2nd, June 30th & July 28th
- June 2nd, June 30th & July 28th
- Pre-event days:
- Bike Safety Team + Data Collection Team must be available to work:
- May 31st, June 27th & July 26th
- May 31st, June 27th & July 26th
- Attend 1 mandatory training in late April or early May.
- Willingness to be flexible with work duties and help with others as required.
- Ability to take direction, follow detailed instruction and work with others for a common goal.
- For all positions, the ability to stand and walk for the majority of the shift and the ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs.
- For Production Team positions, a valid driver’s license and clean driving record is required.
- For Bike Safety Team positions you must have a working bicycle with large bags to carry supplies and be capable of riding 30-40 miles the day of the event.
- Punctuality is a MUST.
Wage:
- Starting pay is $15/hour.
