Are Bike Shops Open in Pittsburgh?

*Update Mar 23, 10am: Governor Wolf’s Administration clarified their policy and included bike repair as essential life-supporting businesses. At this time bike shops are permitted to be open for repairs, but should be closed for sales according to the executive order. Click here to see how we made this happen.

Despite many businesses closing their doors many bike shops stay open (with some modifications) to keep you rolling

For the 25% of Pittsburghers who do not have access to a personal vehicle, biking and public transit are how they get around. For now biking is a more isolated and recommended form of transit. It’s also a great way for a lot of people to stay active and get some fresh air.

Many local businesses are adjusting their daily routine to keep their doors open and safely accommodate those who need them.

Support your local bike shop at this time. Drop off your bike for a tune-up or purchase a gift card.

“We’ve had a lot of friends of the park ask about how to support The Wheel Mill while we’re closed due to COVID-19. The best way to help us out is to buy a gift card! Gift cards never expire and you can use them for passes, rentals, food, lessons, merchandise, parts and anything else for sale at the park. To buy one online, click this LINK. We know everyone is having a hard time in one way or another, so any investment that you can make in the future of the park is appreciated that much more. Stay safe.”
