The Pittsburgh Marathon returns: How to get around on race day + ride the bike cheer course!

The Pittsburgh Marathon is returning at the end of this month, hosting two full days of activities on Saturday April 30th and Sunday May 1st. On Saturday Downtown will host the 5K and Kids Marathon, and on Sunday the Marathon, Half Marathon, Back Half Marathon, and Marathon Relay take over the city streets.

Our friends at the Marathon have provided the following info for cyclists looking to get around on event day. Check out this map of where / when / how to avoid the road closures and crowds & get where you need to go!

Looking to cheer on a friend or just show the runners some yinzer love? Ride the bike cheer course! A route map is below, so you can bike between the designated “cheer zones” and support marathon participants along their run.

We can’t wait to be back on the streets ourselves (for a little something called OpenStreetsPGH) – but till then, have a great marathon weekend, Pittsburgh!
