So our friends brewed us a beer, as one does in the Steel City, which happens to have (arguably) one of the most underappreciated but robust and enthusiastic beer scenes in the country. And on Saturday, September 17th, East End Brewing hosted a ride and an excited, intrepid group of Pittsburghers celebrated the release of that beer by biking to the breweries who helped collaborate to brew it.
That beautiful Saturday, 25 of us gathered at East End Brewing Company in Larimer to sample the BikePGH 20th Anniversary Ale. The weather warmed up quickly between noon and our heading out at 12:30 for Two Frays in Bloomfield. Then it was on to Trace, just a couple blocks over. And then the hike through the strip and over the river via 16th street bridge to Allegheny City Brewing.
It was a fun day, a lovely tour of the city and a great group of people to enjoy it all with!
Try the beer for yourself! 🍻
The BikePGH 20th Anniversary Ale is a very light, easy drinking pale ale leaning on those West Coast hops for a good balance of citrus and floral notes. And a great way to bookend any bike ride. Best part is, the beer celebrates our 20th Anniversary and our 20 years of Advocacy, Education, and Community!
You can purchase the BikePGH 20th Anniversary Beer on tap or in cans from East End Brewing, Allegheny City Brewing, Two Frays Brewery, and Trace Brewing. You can also purchase koozies for $5 at each of those locations, which will also get you a free pour from participating breweries through the end of October. Get it before it’s gone!
