Climate Riders do it again! $6450 raised for BikePGH

Buckle up those helmets and grab your water bottles because we’re about to embark on a joyride of gratitude

For the second year in a row, fans of BikePGH converted their passion for making the planet healthier into pedal power and took on the challenge of a Climate Ride. In April, four Pittsburghers and one Baltimorean (former Pittsburgher!) raised funds in support of the Climate Ride’s Green Fondo Virginia, a ride through the Blue Ridge Mountains & Shenandoah River Valley.

They nominated BikePGH as a beneficiary of their fundraising and their combined efforts resulted in a donation of $6450!

The riders who designated BikePGH as a beneficiary are:

Ken Segel (2nd time donor/rider)

Kate Cummings (2nd time donor/rider)

Sharon Achilles

Stuart Olmsted

Adam Conway

To all of the Climate Riders we say THANK YOU from the bottom of our eco-loving hearts, for being the pedal-pushing heroes that our planet needs.

Are you inspired to do an amazing bike ride that raises money for organizations supporting a healthier environment, like BikePGH? Check out the 2023 Climate Rides! If you designate BikePGH as beneficiary of your fundraising, let us know and we’d be happy to promote your fundraising efforts.

Here’s what the 2023 riders say about their adventures:

Former Pittsburgher Adam Conway says:

I chose BikePGH as a recipient of my Climate Ride fundraising because we really appreciate the advocacy and capacity building you all do. Keep up the good work!

Ken Segel, second time Climate Ride with fellow Rider, Sharon Achilles, says:

We had a great Climate Ride on Skyline Drive, the Blue Ridge Parkway, despite heavy rain on day 2. The Climate Ride drew me because the evidence of increasing harm to the planet touching each of our lives and communities directly is so profound, and only through direct individual and collective action can we begin to limit the terrible damage and existential danger.

There are many more 2023 Climate Rides to choose from! Ride on for the planet!
