The 2024 Youth Bike Summit comes to PA!
Since 2011, the Youth Bike Summit has provided a space for youth leaders and activists in cycling to come together to inform and inspire change. The 2024 Youth Bike Summit will be hosted by Community Bike Works here in Pennsylvania at Muhlenberg College in The Lehigh Valley from June 14-16.
Youth Lead the Way
The Youth Bike Summit (YBS) is a 3-day national conference bringing together students, educators, advocates, researchers, policymakers and community leaders in order to: gather and share ideas; give youth a voice, and encourage civic engagement and advocacy.
This year’s Youth Bike Summit’s action-packed program is full of rides, workshops, and even an opportunity to ride on the famous T-Town Velodrome! The Summit is still seeking workshop and presentation proposals until April 19th, so this could be a great opportunity for your organization to highlight its work on a national level to over four-hundred attendees. According to the organizers, “organizations supporting youth work are encouraged to share findings, even if their young people won’t be present at the event, and groups interested in placing their students in facilitator, speaker, or coordinator roles are welcome to use the YBS as a place to build character. Artistic pursuits, creative projects, outcomes of youth-led initiatives, and research are just a few ideas for what we look for. Past presentations have consisted of maker spaces, fundraising, panel discussions, and staff member swaps.”
Early bird registration for the Youth Bike Summit is also available until April 19th, so if you’re a bike-minded youth or work with aspiring young cyclists, this is a great opportunity to get involved.
