Spring into Riding with New On-the-Bike Classes Starting this May!

What better way to roll into National Bike Month than by brushing up on your riding skills? This year we’re teaming up with POGOH bike share to make getting on a bike easier than ever. Join us for Confident City Cycling and–new for this year–POGOH 101 and 201 classes!

Introducing POGOH 101 and 201 Classes

If you’re brand new to riding, POGOH‘s new classes for adults will help you master balance and pedaling, then build the skills to ride throughout the neighborhood for transportation or recreation. You’ll also become familiar with POGOH’s bike share system and learn how to utilize it to expand your mobility options. You can use a POGOH bike in class or bring your own. Free bike rentals and helmets available per request.

Conquer the city on your bike with Confident City Cycling

For more experienced bike riders, BikePGH’s Confident City Cycling Classes provide all the skills and knowledge to safely commute in Pittsburgh and beyond. Our City Cycling curriculum covers basic and advanced cycling skills, and best practices for solo and group riding, and includes a culminating group ride that utilizes the best of local bicycle infrastructure.

This class is also a great opportunity for aspiring bike educators and ride leaders to learn the best practices from our certified instructors. All Confident City Cycling classes are taught by League of American Bicyclists Certified Instructors (LCIs) and meet outside The Pitt Bike Cave, 230 S Bouquet St, Pittsburgh, PA 15213 (next to Posvar Hall along the pedestrian walkway).

Classes run from 4 – 7 pm featuring skill drills and culminate with a two-and-a-half mile bike ride on the streets around Oakland and Shadyside.

Although a $15 dollar ticket helps us to cover the cost of this class no one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

Note: No one under 18 can attend without a registered parent or guardian, and no one under 12 should attend this class (with or without a parent or guardian).
