Ice cream, hoagies, beer, pop, coffee… All on August 24 at Pittsburgh’s biggest bike ride!
We’ve leveled up our lineup of local food and drinks at UPMC Health Plan PedalPGH this year! Here’s what to expect at our rest stops and at Allegheny Commons Park for this year’s Finish Line Festival:
In the morning: Don’t talk to me until I’ve had my coffee

Vital Sips coffee truck welcomes riders to Allegheny Commons Park to offer pre-ride caffeine in the AM. Locally roasted and ready sell all the coffeehouse classics.
The earliest riders should be arriving to the park around 6:30AM, so yes, coffee is necessary!
Stay fueled and hydrated during the ride with complimentary snacks + drinks at the rest stops
Our rest stop staff and incredible volunteers will be on hand to provide riders with lots of gatorade, water, fruit, pickles– you know, the usual hodgepodge of sweet and salty snack options to keep up your blood sugar and electrolyte intake.
Want to help feed our riders? Sign up for a volunteer shift today!
Rest Stop locations will be listed in the PedalPGH Ride Guide, which will hit every registered rider’s email inbox the week of the event.
*Note: There will be water refilling stations at the rest stops and Finish Line Festival, so bring a re-useable bottle :)

After the ride: Grab a free brew at the brand new PedalPGH Beer Garden

Our brand new Local Beer Garden features some of Pittsburgh’s finest local breweries. Registered 21+ riders, just present your drink ticket (it’s on your bib!) to claim a free 8 oz pour at the Finish Line Festival, thanks to our friends:
- Allegheny City Brewing
- East End Brewing
- Trace Brewing
- Two Frays Brewery
Fundraisers get a second free pour for being VIPs, and full-size pours are available for purchase from all of the brewers onsite! Can we also just add, this new beer partnership is a really big deal for us! We’re grateful to our amazing beer partners for their generosity in providing thousands of thirsty riders with a premium local beverage.. Thanks for sticking with us!
And for the non-drinkers: Pittsburgh-made Red Ribbon Soda

Maybe you’re not into beer, or maybe you brought the kids? Riders can use bib drink ticket to get a free Red Ribbon Soda (pop) courtesy of Natrona Bottling. It’s super tasty and special! Their production uses pure cane sugar and vintage machinery to achieve millions of tiny bubbles in every bottle and a balanced taste that sets it apart from mass-produced sodas.
For complimentary lunch: Hoagies and summer salads from Shuman’s
We’ve got Shuman’s on deck for lunch, and we truly can’t say enough good things about this local woman-owned business. Not only are they serving up a satisfying spread, but they’ve also been huge supporters of our mission at BikePGH. Much love to them for providing every registered rider with free lunch.
What’s on the menu:
- Hoagies: Choose from classic Turkey or fresh Veggie (Vegan)
- Summer Salads: Potato, pasta, and garden (Some GF salad options will be available)
- Watermelon slices

Please note: If you have a serious allergy or food sensitivity, we recommend bringing your own snacks or food to enjoy after the ride, as cross-contact is possible with the buffet-style lunch.
Keep the post-ride feast going with local food trucks!
Our afternoon food truck lineup is stacked with local Pittsburgh favorites. Here’s who’s pulling up so riders can purchase some tasty eats and sweets:
- Gus & Yiayia’s – Shaved ice, popcorn, peanuts, pure charm.
- Ash + Kris Kitchen – Delicious Mediterranean eats with Vegan + GF options
- Millie’s – Ridiculously good ice cream
- Pop World – Gourmet real fruit popsicles
- Twisted Lemonades – Refreshing, ice-cold sweet and tangy goodness
- Kona Ice – Cool down with them at Schenley Plaza if you’re riding the longer routes
