More than 3000 bike riders took to the streets
Pittsburgh is growing a name for itself as one of the best places to bike due to our bridges, hills, unique neighborhoods, views, landmarks, and parks….. check out some of these top spots here!
With four different route lengths to choose from, all ages and experience levels chose the adventure right for them. Routes ranged from 10 to 62 miles, with the 10 Mile BikePGH River Loop, 25 Mile Steel City Media Local Tour, 40 Mile Outside+ Grand Tour, and 62 Mile U.S. Steel Epic Endurance Challenge. Each of these routes highlight Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods while shining a light on the city’s expanding bike infrastructure.
Thanks to BikePGH’s ongoing advocacy throughout the year, we’re committed to ensuring the bike network keeps improving. Our team takes great pride in designing these routes to showcase the best that Pittsburgh has to offer on two wheels!

For the first time, the BikePGH Advocacy Team was able ride the route and help spread the joy of cycling during their inaugural PedalPGH Advocacy Party Ride. We also got to celebrate all of the infrastructure that we’ve been pushing for since the organization started. From bike lanes like Penn Circle to Neighborways and traffic calming, to future plans, the team got got discuss the history, strategies and challenges of changing city streets, and make new friends along the way!
A special thanks to our neighborhood advocates, both new and veterans, who joined us on the 25 mile ride!

Riders also enjoyed a supported ride with rest stops, aid stations, truly awesome mechanics Michael Cottle (Cottle Built), Ike’s Bike Shop, REI, Trek, and Pitt Bike Cave, plus Support and Gear vehicles, and marked directional signage to keep everyone on the right path.

Afterward, everyone came back to the Finish Line Festival in Allegheny Commons to celebrate a ride well done!
Thank you to our local food and drink partners at Shuman’s Homewood for providing lunch, plus our beer brewer friends at Allegheny City Brewing, East End Brewing, Trace Brewing, and Two Frays Brewery for bringing the goods this year!
We also enjoyed having Vital Sips coffee truck, Red Ribbon Soda courtesy of Natrona Bottling, Athletic Brewing, Gus & Yiayia’s, Ash + Kris Kitchen, Millie’s, Pop World, and Kona Ice.
Thanks to DJ Samuel Andres for the tunes, and to Zero Fossil Energy Outfitters.

A huge thank you also goes out to our team of 100+ volunteers who make PedalPGH possible! Each year, we’re fortunate to work alongside dedicated individuals who lend their time and energy to tasks like route marshaling, setting up the event, serving food, and keeping spirits high. We’re especially grateful to our PedalPGH Task Force Volunteers, who logged countless hours and miles previewing routes to ensure everything ran smoothly and safely. We truly couldn’t pull this off without the incredible support of our volunteer team; thank you for being an essential part of the ride!
THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING BIKEPGH
BikePGH has produced PedalPGH since 2012, with the event raising over $1.5 million for bicycle and pedestrian advocacy in Pittsburgh. Registration proceeds fund BikePGH, a registered 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit, that works on behalf of the Pittsburgh community to make the city safe and accessible for everyone to bike and walk.
The funds raised from PedalPGH registration sales, sponsorships, and merch sales make it possible for BikePGH to continue to work throughout the year to make Pittsburgh safer and more accessible for biking and walking. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported, from participants to volunteers, staff, sponsors, partners, vendors, SAG drivers, mechanics, and marshals. This event is incredibly special and we look forward to next year.
The event is organized by Bike Pittsburgh and is made possible through major support from UPMC Health Plan. Additional support is provided by U.S. Steel, Outside+ Network, Steel City Media, Pittsburgh Regional Transit, VisitPITTSBURGH, Giant Eagle, Red Ribbon / Natrona Bottling, Brandywine Communities, Fulton Commons, Chicken of the Sea, Lamar Advertising, Wahila Creative, InkDivision, PublicSource, and Zero Fossil.
