Ted was born in Pittsburgh, but first fell head-over-heels for cycling as a messenger on the streets of Philadelphia. Since moving back home in 2003, Ted has held most bike jobs imaginable from mechanic, to pedicab driver, to tour guide. As a PA certified Social Studies teacher, Ted’s educational experiences have ranged from classrooms throughout the region to summer programs with Venture Outdoors and Positive Spin and an AmeriCorps service year in McKeesport and Braddock. As a mechanic and League Cycling Instructor, Ted has created curriculum on safe riding and bike maintenance. His passion is getting people of all ages to enjoy the world on two wheels. When not bike touring, mountain biking, or attending races and rides, Ted can be found traveling, eating, catching local bands, or hiking in local parks. He can be reached at ted@bikepgh.org
