Save the Date: BikeFest is turning 10. Celebrate with us on Friday August 8th at the BikeFest Kickoff Party!
BikeFest is our biggest fundraiser and annual celebration of all-things-bicycling in Pittsburgh. For 2014 the fun will run 17 days with bike-themed rides and events organized by local organizations and by people like you. Start off the celebration by joining us at the 10th annual BikeFest party! There will be great food (at the VIP party), DJs, dancing, and a silent auction. Get your tickets here:
This year’s events will include:
Bike to the Ball Game: BikePGH is hosting our first ever Bike To The Ballgame! Purchase tickets here and $3.00 from every ticket purchased at go to BikePGH. Bike-to-the-Ballgame fans will be seated together, so you can enjoy the game with other members of the cycling community.
Try-A-Bike Jamboree: A chance to try out all manner of bikes and trikes at the Bud Harris Cycling Oval, from recumbents to cargo bikes to trikes and E-bikes. They’ll also have a demo PAT Transit bike rack for practice!
Two Wheels; Lots of Green: A leisurely tour of community green spaces throughout Pittsburgh, finishing off with a block party in Larimer.
Pittsburgh Major Taylor Cycling Club 3-State Tour: For more experienced riders, a choice of 100, 85 or 62 miles of scenic riding through Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Ohio on marked courses with SAG support.

BikeFest Kickoff Party August 8th
BikeFest 2013 kicked off with our annual BikeFest fundraiser bash on August 9th where everyone enjoyed one of the best parties in Pittsburgh while supporting our mission to make Pittsburgh more bike and pedestrian friendly.

BikeFest VIP Party presented by East Side Development
- 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Small Plates, Wine, Local Beer and Food by some of Pittsburgh’s Best Chefs. Kevin Sousa from Union Pig and Chicken, Bar Marco and more
Main Event Party: Our largest party of the year kicked off BikeFest in style, and raised funds to support BikePGH’s advocacy efforts. Keep an eye out for Thick Bikes’ annual BikeFest Surprise.
- 8:00PM to 12:00AM, Featured Music, Dancing, fun for all. and a Silent Auction with bikes, art, and much more.

PedalPGH Sunday Aug. 24th
Ride with BikePGH on Sunday August 25, 2013 to celebrate 20 years of PedalPGH. Named one of “The Best of the ‘Burgh” By Pittsburgh Magazine in 2013, PedalPGH is not to be missed.
Choose one of three great rides around Pittsburgh:
- Beginner friendly Breathe Project Family Ride
- 25 mile Highmark City Tour
- 62 mile PJ Dick, Trumbull and Lindy Paving Metric Century
Riders will have fully marked courses that show off some of the City’s best bicycle friendly roads, scenic views and of course bike lanes. Full service rest stops along each of the routes will provide riders with gourmet snacks from our partner Whole Foods. Wrapping up your ride don’t forget to pick up your commemorative PedalPGH T-Shirt and enjoy Music and great food from one of Pittsburgh’s Mobile Food Trucks at the REI Finish Line Festival.
PedalPGH and the BikeFest Party wouldn’t be possible without lots of dedicated volunteers. Join our team to help out before or during the events and you’ll get great perks in return.
