BikeFest is turning 10. Celebrate with us!
BikeFest is our biggest fundraiser and annual celebration of all-things-bicycling in Pittsburgh. For 2014 the fun will run 17 days with bike-themed rides and events organized by local organizations and by people like you.
BikeFest Events Galore!
This year’s events include:
The Future of Downtown Bike Infrastructure: On Tuesday, August 19 Andrew Dash, Assistant Director of City Planning, and Matt Barron, Policy Director, will be giving a tour of upcoming bicycle-oriented infrastructure. Join them for an easy, informational ride!
Pittsburgh Underwear Bike Ride: The Pittsburgh Underwear Bike Ride participants will ride from Lawrenceville to Homestead in their skivvies on Thursday, August 21st. This ride is about having fun, promoting a positive self-body image, and building a stronger bike community in Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Food and Technology Entrepreneur Ride: Interested in entrepreneurship in technology or food? If so, this networking ride is perfectfor you. Enjoy a 25-30 mile ride on Saturday set at a moderate pace followed by a stop for lunch. There is plenty of time to meet the other riders and trade ideas.
PedalPGH: Join in the region’s largest bike ride on Sunday, August 24! With three courses, PedalPGH has something for every rider. Choose from the beginner-friendly Breathe Project Family Ride, the 25-mile Highmark City Tour, and the 62-mile PJ Dick, Trumbull and Lindy Paving Metric Century. Register today!

PedalPGH and the BikeFest Party wouldn’t be possible without lots of dedicated volunteers. Join our team to help out before or during the events and you’ll get great perks in return. Every year we need ride leaders and organizers, BikeFest party, and PedalPGH help. BikeFest Kickoff Party – Friday, August 8
BikeFest always starts with the annual kickoff party. This year’s party was held at the Pittsburgh Opera and it was a blast. Thanks to everyone who came down to celebrate the 10th Annual BikeFest with us.

BikeFest VIP Party: presented by East Side Development
- 6:00PM to 8:00PM, VIP guests will enjoy small plates by some of Pittsburgh’s best chefs including Justin Severino (Cure), Chad Townsend (formerly of Salt of the Earth), Kevin Sousa (Superior Motors), and Jamilka Borges (Bar Marco). Or grab a pie from Pizza Boat’s mobile wood-fired oven. Sip wine, local beer, and cocktails by Maggie’s Farm Rum. Fernando Martì on the 1s and 2s.
Main Event Party: our largest party of the year
- 8:00PM to 12:00AM, DJs Selecta, Edgar Um, MB, and Mary Mack will keep guest dancing all night long. The main party will also feature silent auction with dozens of desirable items like bikes, art, and much more. And of course, keep an eye out for Thick Bikes’ annual BikeFest Surprise. Three drink tickets are included in ticket price.
