BikePGH to host PedalPGH on August 5th, 2012

Pedal Pittsburgh will be held on August 5th, 2012

Thousands of people enjoy riding in the popular event Pedal Pittsburgh. The annual event has grown from 1,000 in 1994 to 2,700 riders in 2011. In 2012 PedalPGH will again start and end at the Southside Works. While that location is the same, there will be a few changes in store for riders.

New for 2012 will be the metric century option. A metric century is a 100 km route, just a touch over 62 miles. Cyclists that have not ridden that distance can use the summer to build up their stamina to complete the course. If 62 miles sounds like too much riding in one day, don’t worry, there will be plenty of other mileage routes for the big ride.

Also new for 2012 will be an expanded Finish Line Festival. BikePGH plans to pull out all the stops to create a lively atmosphere where riders will want to spend a few hours after the ride to relive the ride they just enjoyed. Look forward to live music, food, and fun.

Online registration and further details will be up soon. Keep the rubber side down and your eyes on our website for the big announcement.
