So you’re riding in PedalPGH. What time should you start?
If you’re as excited as we are about PedalPGH this Sunday, you’ll probably be rushing to the starting line, ready to start at the crack of dawn
Or, if you’re as excited as we are about PedalPGH this Sunday, you’ll probably be so tired on Sunday that the only thing you’ll want to do is catch up on sleep.
Either way, to get the ‘full PedalPGH experience’ – with fully-supported rest stops, 3,000 friendly bicyclists, and miles of beautiful Pittsburgh roadways – there are some suggested times that riders should start the various routes that will get you back to the Southside between 11am-2pm to catch the REI Finish Line Festival in full-swing. Granted, everyone rides at their own pace, so please, take your personal limits and abilities into account when you plan your day.
All rides begin from the starting line at the Southside Riverfront Park under the Birmingham Bridge
If you’re riding in the PJ Dick, Trumbull and Lindy Paving Metric Century…
- Riders should leave from the Southside Riverfront Park between 7:00 and 8:00am
- See all details about the PJ Dick Trumbull Lindy Paving Metric Century on the PedalPGH website
If you’re riding in the Highmark City Tour…
- Riders should leave from the Southside Riverfront park between 8:00-8:30am
- See all details about the Highmark City Tour on the PedalPGH website
(If you’re riding the 45 mile option)
- Riders should leave between 7:30-8:00am
- The 45 mile option was created to give an option to riders who may want to do more than 25 miles, but aren’t prepared for the full 62 miles. This optional ride takes you on a full 45-miles, while still having access to rest stops.
If you’re riding in the Breathe Project Family Ride…
- Riders should leave from the Southside Riverfront park between 10am & noon.
- See all details about the Breathe Project Family ride on the PedalPGH website
What about parking?
Bike Parking
We encourage people to ride their bikes to Pedal PGH. It’s free and you won’t have to deal with finding a parking spot for your car. There will be bike parking at the start/finish area. Please bring a lock, as you are responsible for your ride.
Car Parking
Free parking: On Sunday mornings, there is plentiful, free street parking all over the South Side, near the start of the ride. There will also be a free parking lot at the 5 Hot Metal St, at the Union of Electrical Engineers.
See PedalPGH.org for all ride details.
