BikePGH Welcoming Ride brings White House Attention to Pittsburgh

The Welcoming Bike Ride we hosted this past May with the City of Pittsburgh’s Welcoming Pittsburgh initiative has been recognized as a “bright spot in welcoming and integration” by the White House Task Force on New Americans.

Bright Spots in Welcoming and Integration

The City of Pittsburgh was recognized by The White House Task Force on New Americans in their Bright Spots in Welcoming and Integration report for its innovative approaches to building a more welcoming city. The report highlights some of Welcoming PGH’s most recent initiatives, including the Welcoming Bike Ride. Welcoming PGH received a shout-out from the Special Assistant to President Obama, Felicia Escobar, who especially loved the Welcoming Bike Ride. Nearly 30 riders, representing eight different countries, had a fantastic experience while riding Healthy Bikes along the Southside sections of the Great Allegheny Passage.
