Fast-Casual Restaurant Cruises into North Pittsburgh with 10-Day Benefit for BikePGH’s Positive Spin Program

Piada Italian Street Food Gearing up for Second Pittsburgh Location while Supporting BikePGH

Piada Italian Street Food  is opening the doors to its second Pittsburgh location on Tuesday, December 5, at 6296 Northway Drive. The fast-casual concept, inspired by the roadside family-run food carts and markets of Rimini, Italy, is located at The Block Northway, down the street from Ross Park Mall and just off McKnight Road. This is Piada’s second restaurant opening in the Steel City, following its debut in Oakland earlier this year.

For its grand opening, Piada is partnering with BikePGH to help fundraise from December 5-15, Piada will collect donations made at the register from guests. BikePGH is fundraising to continue working towards our vision of safe and accessible streets with a goal of reaching $30,000 by December 31st. “Giving back and becoming active members of our local communities is a cornerstone of our company and our employees,” said Piada Founder Chris Doody. “After discovering the significant impact that BikePGH is having on Pittsburgh’s neighborhoods and seeing how it’s empowering local youth in need, we felt that pairing with this incredible organization was a natural fit.”

In addition to the donations collected, Piada will donate one bicycle to BikePGH’s Positive Spin after-school cycling program.

Contributions enable after-school cycling instructors like DeVaughn to lead programs for underserved youth that foster their strength and independence.

“Being a black male who’s from their community, I’m proud to be a youth instructor, providing safe cycling knowledge. That’s something I didn’t have growing up.”

“We are grateful for Piada’s support of BikePGH’s vision of creating safe and accessible streets for our Pittsburgh neighbors,” said Scott Bricker, executive director of BikePGH.

Piada is a chef-driven, fast casual concept, which offers a seasonally-influenced menu. The restaurant’s focus is simply prepared, with made-to-order items utilizing dozens of fresh, premium ingredients. In addition to the namesake Piada – a thin crust, handmade dough, which is baked on a stone grill, filled with specialty items and then rolled as guests watch the entire process – core entrees also include Pasta Bowls and Chopped Salads.

The restaurant will be open from 10:45 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., seven days a week. Online ordering and catering are also available. For more information, visit mypiada.com and like Piada on Facebook @piadaitalianstreetfood, and follow on Twitter @mypiada and Instagram @piadaitalianstreetfood.
