Meetings to showcase neighborhood changes

The Port Authority, the City of Pittsburgh, the Urban Redevelopment Authority, and Allegheny County are looking to dramatically change the transportation system between the East End and Downtown through a new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) system. Additionally, the project is looking to install bike lanes, much of it protected, from Oakland (along Fifth Ave using the existing contra-flow bus lane), then splitting onto Fifth and Forbes in Uptown, and continuing onward into downtown Pittsburgh.

They have just announced a series of four online public meetings, each with a different neighborhood focus: Highland Park, Uptown/Downtown, Oakland, and Squirrel Hill.

While the meetings will focus on how the BRT will affect the focus neighborhood, all meetings will include an overview of the project so anyone interested in the project is encouraged to attend a meeting that fits in their schedule.
