Join us for OpenStreetsPGH on Sunday, June 29th, 2025 from 10am – 2pm as we celebrate East Liberty, Homewood, Larimer and Point Breeze to Wilkinsburg with 3.6 miles of car-free fun. Hosted by BikePGH and presented by UPMC Health Plan, OpenStreetsPGH is Pittsburgh’s fastest-growing free event series that opens miles of streets for people of all ages and abilities to explore our neighborhoods while biking, walking, and rolling. Come out and walk, roll, shop, eat, and connect with friends.

Food & Beverage

Come for the cupcakes, and stay for the wedding cakes! BB&Bur has delicious pastries in all sizes, and for all occasions.

Enter through the back door on Commerce St to experience this cozy speakeasy! Commerce has excellent alcoholic and non-alcoholic options, and on Sundays, you can bring your own vinyl to spin!

Serving coffee from two incredible roasters – Onyx and Partners – Delanie’s is a lovely place to grab a bevvy and get some work done!

Sip one of their incredible craft brews inside the taproom or out in the beer garden! Did we mention they have pizza AND ample bike parking?

  • The Dream BBQ – 7600 N Braddock Ave

Notable for their ribs, chicken wings, and signature honey mustard sauce, the Dream BBQ is a must-visit bbq joint if you’re in Homewood.

“A coffee shop with a cause” – part cafe, party community hub, Everyday Cafe is a great place to grab a cup of joe, a panini, and take an afternoon meeting

Lorelei has an incredible, Alpine-inspired drink menu, featuring beer, wine, and cocktails. Grab a pizza from Woodfired next door, and you’re all set for happy hour!

With sweet treats, sandwiches, and fresh-baked bread, Madeleine’s is the perfect spot for when you need a little treat. Plus, you can enjoy their adorable outdoor seating area.

Millie’s is an incredible supporter of our mission – and the ice cream doesn’t hurt either! Come here when you’re needing a delicious sweet treat, vegan options available!

With 9 varieties of oysters to try, this is an excellent spot to grab a platter. Raw oysters not your thing? They have lots of incredible NOLA-inspired bites as well, such as po’ boys, jambalaya, and seafood gumbo!

This bustling Thai joint is a great spot for street noodles and stir fries. It’s BYOB, cash only, and the tables fill fast, so get there early!

Homewood’s newest pizza joint! With an incredible attention to detail and delicious, from-scratch pizza, this should be your new go-to when you need a slice.

Donuts, cookies, cupcakes, and more! Dana’s Bakery treats will give you the dose of sugar you need during your next bike ride through the East End.

Shuman’s is a halal restaurant that can serve you all times of day, and for any occasion! Come for all-day breakfast, stay for hibachi. Did we mention they cater??

Showcase offers a variety of ribs (beef, pork, and turkey) as well as a large selection of side dishes, wings, and sandwiches; get there early before they sell out!

Art & Culture

With private music lessons for all ages, a jazz ensemble, and a renowned Boys Choir, AAMI promotes the artistic expression of musicians of all skill levels through African American musical tradition. 

Named for two important African American abstract artists – Alma Thomas and Norman Lewis – ALMA | LEWIS is an art space dedicated to black culture. A | L holds contemporary exhibitions, hosts visual and literary artist residencies, and promotes their archive of Black history, culture, and art amongst patrons, peers, and collaborators alike.

A lovely art gallery in the Trenton Ave business district, view their current and upcoming exhibitions on their website!

Named after 20th century entertainment legends Gene Kelly and Billy Strayhorn, this theater lives up to its namesake! The Kelly Strayhorn Theater is a pillar of the arts in East Liberty, hosting dance concerts, musical acts, and  theatrical performances.

Centered around the artistic impact of the African diaspora, Legacy Arts Project offers a variety of dance and drum classes, weekend artistic programs, and their annual celebration of African dance, art, and spoken word: Dance Africa!

Offering African drumming, dance, and martial arts, Sankofa is a hub for African American movement and joy in Homewood.

Once home to The National Negro Opera Company (NNOC), and now an official Historical Marker, the NOH is now a non-profit dedicated to the restoration of The National Opera House building and the support of the arts in underserved communities.

Shop & Explore

Dorsey’s isn’t just a record shop carrying some of the best R&B, Hip Hop, and Jazz albums around, they are also here to help with computer networking services, and analog-to-digital transfers.

The Garden Resource Center (GRC) is a tool-lending library and garden materials hub that helps gardeners access what they need to grow thriving home and community gardens. Through a sliding scale annual membership, patrons can borrow tools for free and access bulk materials like organic compost, mulch, and soil amendments.

Whether you’re looking for a new furry friend, a new vet, or help for the critter you found in your backyard – Humane Animal Rescue has you covered!

Not only does Oasis Farm provide nutritious, fresh produce to the neighborhood, they also provide comprehensive outreach programming to teach visitors about farming, alternative energy, stormwater management, and cooking with seasonal produce!

Known for their incredible customer service, Salik’s is a friendly neighborhood hardware store with a variety of products.

Workshop boasts an adorable storefront on Trenton Ave, with plants, jewelry, decor, and tchochkes galore! But that’s not all they offer – Workshop offers classes on an array of topics, such as sewing, weaving, and woodworking!
