Check out these local gems along the route in two historic Pittsburgh neighborhoods!

Join us for OpenStreetsPGH on July 27 from 10am to 2pm as we celebrate the unique character of the Strip District and Lawrenceville– Discover a new business, eat at a local restaurant, and ride along with thousands of other event attendees.

Here’s our list of places you won’t want to miss along the July 27 OpenStreetsPGH route, and be sure to message us if you have more to share!

Food & Beverage

This cozy wine bar is one of the best low-key spots in the city – grab a funky wine, a cheesy toastie, and a crème brûlée!

With a $45 prix fixe and unique cocktails that can’t be beat, Bar Marco is the perfect place to plan your next date night. Pro tip: order the bonus pasta!

A lovely cafe to grab a bagel and coffee, and lock in for some solid work hours.

Looking for your next sober hangout spot? This is it! While Butterwood serves incredible cakes all day long, their cozy cafe stays open until 11pm to satisfy all of your late-night cake cravings. Plus, they have great vegan options.

A craft brewery and scratch kitchen all rolled into one. Check out their first floor for games like bocce ball and shuffleboard, or relax on their covered patio upstairs!

This Italian bakery features fresh and delicious pasta, pizza, paninis, and pastries.

Serving delicious lattes and arepas, this Colombian food truck is a great place to grab a pick-me-up.

Come for the inventive coffee, cocktails, and baked goods…. and stay for the tinned fish! This unique cafe has a bit of something for everyone.

Craving pasta? This is the place for you! DiAnoia’s serves up hearty Italian dishes, refreshing cocktails, and an incredible selection of desserts.

A bustling hub for coworking, food, drinks, and events in the heart of Lawrenceville… with a great view from the rooftop bar! 

A BikePGH staff favorite, this lovely cafe serves up classic coffee and teas, as well as unique seasonal offerings!

For over a decade, La Gourmandine has been serving delicious baked goods and decadent pastries, come check them out in their original Lawrenceville location.

A Filipino-inspired brunch spot, Lola’s has incredible bagels, donuts, and lumpia! My favorite? The ube cinnamon roll. And speaking of ube… UBE FEST – Check out Ube Fest during OpenStreetsPGH, complete with an ube themed scavenger hunt through Lawrenceville! Ube Fest is a celebration of Filipino culture, art, and food.

A hotspot for Vietnamese food in Pittsburgh – Lucy vacations back home in Vietnam during the winter, but you can catch her slinging sammies in the Strip all summer long!

Although Maggie’s has expanded their operations out to Upper St Clair, their Barrelhouse and Cocktail Lounge is still going strong! Head here for creative tiki cocktails, and the best falernum money can buy.

Another BikePGH staff favorite, this cafe and bakery is a great spot to stop if you’re in need of breakfast, a pastry, or a fantastic loaf of bread.

Millie’s is an incredible supporter of our mission – and the ice cream doesn’t hurt either! Come here when you’re needing a delicious sweet treat, with vegan and gluten free options galore.

This awarded tapas spot features incredible bites; my favorites are their jamón serrano, fried artichokes, and gildas. Wash it all down with a glass of their refreshing sangria!

The only Syrian cafe in Pittsburgh, this third wave coffee shop has some of the friendliest staff and the warmest, richest cardamom coffee around. 

From the owners of DiAnoia’s, this hole-in-the-wall bakery has incredibly fresh bread, pastries, and sandwiches. Try the cacio e pepe focaccia!

With fresh, juicy chicken shawarma, crispy falafel, and herby zaatar fries, this Lebanese street food spot is great for any time of day. Show your BikePGH membership card to get a free side of fries with your order :)

Come for the mind-blowing Thai dishes and stay for the gorgeous garden patio, this is a great place to celebrate a special occasion. Bar walkups are welcome, but it’s wise for diners to make a reservation for peak hours.  

Whether you’re ordering a hot kabab to-go, checking out their incredible selection of Middle Eastern groceries, or looking to cater your next event, Salem’s has it all!

A fish market, a grocery store, a hot food counter, and Andy’s Sushi Bar all make Wholey’s one of the most popular destinations in the Strip.

Art & Culture

Since 1994, Attack Theatre has created bold, immersive experiences by weaving together modern dance, music, and visual artistry. If you’re looking for a fun way to move your body, come check out one of their classes!

This badass indoor rock-climbing gym is just a block from the route and features a variety of fitness options. Show your BikePGH Member card for a 10% discount on adult day passes + free rental shoes during your visit!

The Clemente Museum honors Roberto Clemente, a Puerto Rican Pirates player who advocated for racial equity and the dignity of underserved communities both on and off the field. The museum is hosting Open House events on July 18th, 19th, and during OpenStreetsPGH! Plan your visit here! (It’s just one block off the route!)

PBT has been dedicated to celebrating the art of ballet in Pittsburgh since 1969. Check out their upcoming performance of Dracula the last weekend in October.

The Pittsburgh Opera is a pinnacle of musical art in Pittsburgh, showcasing incredible singers and dramatic performances. Their next featured opera, La Bohème, runs in October.

A vital part of our city’s theatre scene, Quantum Theatre offers unique productions with a focus on non-traditional spaces. View upcoming shows on their website.

A grassroots artist collective and art studio showcasing works from local artists and hosting creative gallery events with music, live art, and performance. Great to find local gifts, too!

If you want to see films you love on the big screen, and have a craft beer from Bierport while doing so, look no further than Rowhouse. With fun, themed weeks and events, this theater is a must-go for your next movie night.

A music venue, event space, bar, and pizza spot, Spirit is a crowd-favorite venue to see a show and grab a drink.

Babes & Bubbles is a celebration of the dynamic spirit of women-owned businesses, featuring an eclectic array of products, live music, and bubbly curated with care. Check out the market while you are on the OpenStreetsPGH route at the Strip District Terminal.

Boheme features over 25 local small businesses, showcasing handcrafted goods, original art, and curated vintage fashion.

This toy store focuses on European- and American-made toys with no screen or batteries. If you’re looking for a classic toy for the kid in your life, this is the place.

Self-proclaimed as “Curated Maximalism” (we love that!), this charming vintage store features colorfully curated clothes and accessories in Lower Lawrenceville.

This neighborhood market has a bit of everything: coffee, jewelry, clothes, and pinball!

While there are many great businesses in the Market House, Nine O’Clock Wines is a stand-out. Whether you’re a seasoned wine expert or just looking for a nice bottle to have with dinner… Come here while you still can! 

Now in their new location on Liberty Ave, Many More is a gigantic grocery and food hub; notable features include their bakery, hot food counter, and incredible hotpot selection.
