Bike, walk, roll, and explore car-free Pittsburgh streets on Sun. June 28 and July 26
Celebrate active transportation and community connection on Sunday, June 28, 2026, and then again on Sunday, July 26, 2026 from 10am – 2pm, at OpenStreetsPGH presented by UPMC Health Plan!
Hosted by BikePGH, this FREE community event transforms miles of Pittsburgh streets into car-free space for people of all ages and abilities to explore by biking, walking, rolling, and more. For one day, our streets become places to connect, move, and experience the city in a whole new way.

This year’s first route on June 28 brings OpenStreetsPGH to Downtown and South Side. Take a car-free 2 mile journey from bustling Downtown Pittsburgh through the newly renovated Market Square, up Forbes Ave through the Armstrong Tunnel, and across the 10th St Bridge to the scenic business district on East Carson St in South Side.

This year’s second and final route on July 26 brings OpenStreetsPGH back to the Strip District and Lawrenceville with 3+ miles of car-free streets. Cruise Smallman St through the heart of the Strip, packed with history, famous vendors, and high energy. Then roll up Butler St into Lawrenceville, where iconic murals, local shops, and creativity take over.
