Art Commission gives expedited approval and accolades, giving bike riders unprecedented safety as well as bottomless snack
PITTSBURGH, PA – A new way to protect bicyclists is in town, and it is hot and delicious. One passerby remarked, “This reminds me of my favorite hot dogs from BottleDogs by Bottlerocket, oh boy how I love those dawgs.”

— Ok, fine, I am your April Fool. While we would actually love every bike lane in Pittsburgh to be protected, here’s something that really is brand new and super true:
**NO JOKE: Hot Dog fun is coming your way this May, with BikePGH’s first-ever Spring Bike Picnic!**

Come ride the bike network you helped build, and help power what comes next.
For over 20 years, BikePGH and supporters have been advocating for a safe and connected bike network. As the gaps fill in, it’s time to see how it all connects and celebrate the community that keeps pushing Pittsburgh toward safer, more joyful streets.
Close out National Bike Month with a fundraiser ride and picnic that celebrates the progress we’ve made together. Starting and ending at Frick Environmental Center, this 15-mile marshaled loop will roll past key infrastructure wins. After the ride, roll back over to Frick Environmental Center for hot dogs (vegan option, too!), hangs, and good company to celebrate the progress we’ve made over the past 20+ years of connecting the bike network.
